Restless Leg Syndrome and a bar of soap by Jenefer Huntoon, N.D., Naturopathic Physician, Seattle, WA, www.DrHuntoon.com

Restless Leg Syndrome is a serious problem because it keeps people from getting quality sleep. In my clinic, we have achieved results with a food source calcium magnesium product with plant enzymes added to aid absorption of the calcium and magnesium. We have also seen results by administering a series of biochemical tests and using nutrition and plant enzymes to balance body chemistry. Some cases responded to spinal alignment because the lower extremities are affected when the low back is out of alignment.

There have always been some Restless Leg Syndrome cases that improved but still had some degree of problem. A year ago, I heard an anecdotal report that placing a bar of soap (any brand or size) in its paper wrapper inside the sheets at the foot of the bed solved the problem. I suggested several people try this and they saw immediate results! We do not understand the mechanism by which this works, but it is a very inexpensive experiment to try.

Dr. Jenefer Huntoon is a Northwest expert in plant enzyme therapy and has studied under Dr. Howard Loomis (the world expert in plant enzyme therapy) since 1987. She is currently one of a few Internal Health Specialists certified by Logan College.
